Colorless transparent liquid, melting point -56.5℃, boiling point 215-216℃, flash point 115.5℃, easily soluble in ethanol, soluble in organic solvents such as ether and benzene, and also in water. It is used as a high boiling point solvent, catalyst, and plasticizer for rubber and plastics.
Application
Catalyst:xylene isomer catalyst; olefin polymerization catalyst; catalyst for the manufacture of tetraethyl lead; catalyst for the manufacture of carbodiimide; catalyst for the replacement reaction of trialkylboron and olefin; Catalyst; catalyst for the polymerization of styrene and conjugated diene compounds; if used in the polymerization of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol, it can prevent fiber discoloration.
High boiling point solvent:nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate solvent; solvent used to maintain the life of organic peroxide catalyst; solvent used for dispersing fluorinated ethylene; peroxide used as curing catalyst for polyester resin and epoxy resin agent and diluent.
Stabilizers:chlorine-based insecticides and stabilizers; stabilizers for phenolic resins; solid agents for sugar alcohol resins.
Synthetic resins:plasticizers for rubber and plastics, curing agents for xylenol formaldehyde resins; softeners for phenolic resins used in shell molds; softeners for vinyl chloride; plasticizers for vinyl acetate polymers; Flame retardant for polyester resins.
Others:used as raw materials for the preparation of pesticides and pesticides, used as ethylating reagents and ketene production.
