Pentaerythritol is an organic compound with the chemical formula C5H12O4. It belongs to polyol organic matter. It is a white crystalline powder, combustible, and easily esterified by general organic acids. It is widely used in the coating industry to produce alkyd resins, synthesize advanced lubricants, plasticizers, surfactants, medicine, explosives, etc.
Application
1. In the coating industry, pentaerythritol can mainly be used in the manufacture of alkyd resin coatings, which can improve the hardness, gloss and durability of the coating film.It is also used in industries such as paints, varnishes and printing inks.
2. In terms of lubricant processing, pentaerythritol can control dry oils, smoldering coatings and aviation lubricants.
3. In the adhesive industry, pentaerythritol is used as a flame retardant for adhesives, and an expandable flame retardant can be obtained in combination with ammonium polyphosphate (APP).
